Anything tragic can happen a few days before, or on the day of prom. What if your shoes are a little too tight? What if you get a big pimple the day before? Well here are some tips that could be a lifesaver; whether you’re going to prom or attending another event in the future.

Tip #1: The shoe hack

You found the perfect pair of shoes but they’re a little bit too tight. You try to look for a bigger size but there is no more to be found. So you get the shoes but what can you do to make them fit better? Put on a thick sock and put on the shoes and blow dry the areas that are too tight and boom the shoes should fit better.

Tip #2: The pimple hack

Oh no! You wake up the morning of prom and you have a pimple on your cheek the size of Pluto. You think to yourself ¨why me?¨, but here’s what you can do. Take a ice cube and put it on the pimple. This should help reduce the swelling.

Tip #3 : Make your perfume or cologne last longer

Normally, perfume doesn’t last a couple of hours, let alone the whole night. If you want to make your perfume last longer put Vaseline on the places where you would put it. The oils from the vaseline will hold on to the smell of the perfume longer.

Tip #4 : Shaving Trick

This tip is for girls who are planning to wear a short dress to a special occasion. If you are not very good with a razor but want smooth legs, use Nair a day or two before the event (follow the directions on the bottle!). After you finish “shaving” use coconut oil for even smoother and shiny legs.

Tip #5: No more oily makeup

Let’s be honest your makeup is not going to be top notch for the whole night. You’re most likely going to be dancing, moving around , and taking pictures. So to avoid shiny-looking makeup be prepared and bring blotting sheets with you. Bonus: Use waterproof mascara to avoid the runny mascara look all night.

Tip #6: A brighter smile

A week or two before the event, brush your teeth with baking soda mixed with  toothpaste. On the day of your event avoid drinks like coffee and dark soda AT ALL COSTS to avoid stains on your teeth.

Let’s be honest, everything will not be 100% perfect on the day of your event.  There might be some mishaps and that’s okay. Special events like prom are meant to be exciting, and fun. These are the days where you are supposed to make memories. Instead of being snooty and trying to strive to be perfect have fun, dance a little, and take lots of pictures!
