Students love to have a new pair of shoes for the school year because they want something brand new or they want to replace their shoes from last year. Kids of all grades enjoy opening a new pair of shoes out of their box for the first day of school. Opening the box, hearing the angel harp in your head, and looking at how clean your shoes are is a wonderful experience.

Students get a new pair because they want to have a different pair from last year even if they still fit. “I like to get a new pair cause the ones that you wear last year get played out. I usually like to go for Jordan’s,” said slasher Dymere Brown.

Other students want to have a new pair because they want the sneaker to look nice without rips or tears from long term wearing. “I want to walk around with a fresh pair of shoes. If the ones from last year are messed up then I’m gonna buy a new pair, that’s just common sense. I usually go for Nike’s but right now I’m on a mission to get some Pumas to add to my collection,” said, junior, Jarvis Ledbetter.

Other students like to have a new pair just because. “I just like having a new pair. I usually go for those Adidas,” said senior, Nyona Alston.

Adolescents are supposed to change their shoes every 5½ to 6 months. This estimate is to help keep in mind that the older one gets, the faster the shoes start wearing down, according to the website Fitting Children Shoes.

“I like having something that looks clean and not ripped and all that. I don’t have a preference of brands but it’s just whatever I like,” said junior, Maxwell Johnson.
